Excellent app for recording from turntable to mac
I downloaded this to try out of desperation… was going to invest major time in using an audio recording app that came free… needed this to record my record collection from a vintage turntable (sturdy and classic Micro Seiki MB14, modded RCA cables) hooked up to an ART USB phono pre-amp, connected via USB to my MacBook Air. The MacBook Air needed the ART due to no audio in jack and the ART offers a superior audio converter anyways… I found the software very intuitive. The first "wow" factor came when I discovered that I can add tracks and modify track information while I am actually recording and that the software automatically began playing what I was recording through the MacBook Airs speakers, which is what I wanted. Splitting the tracks was a breeze and then the second "wow" feature: a super-easy scan command that automatically eliminated unwanted "pops" and "clicks" from my vinyl; the third "wow" feature: with only two or three mouseclicks I was able to save my tracks directly into iTunes without doing anything. And by the way, I was able to save my file and the actual tracks all in Apple Lossless format and fine-tune the settings on that, as well. Really, really, useful app for the intended purpose and priced just right.
